Hello, I am a theoretical ecologist and evolutionary biologist and data scientist. I obtained my Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and am currently working at Tel Aviv University is Israel as a Postdoctoral Fellow. I am broadly interested in applying my mathematical, modelling, and statistical skills to understand plant communities and their dynamics. Currently, I am working on understanding the global distribution of plant life-forms and life cycles. To accomplish this, I am assembling a global database of plant life-forms with subsequent mapping using observation data. I will then use this assembled database to test hypotheses about plant life-form distributions and the factors driving their current distribution.
My dissertation work was focused on understanding the role roots play in plant soil feedbacks (PSFs) and the affects of the differences among roots on plant growth, carbon cycling, and PSFs. To tackle this question, I am designed several stage-based root demographic models that categorize roots into distinct stages.
If you would like to know more about my work or me, take a look through this website. If you want to ask me a question or want to get in contact with me, please look at the About Me page.
If you are interested in learning how to make a biological model take a look at my Biological Modelling blog (http://biomodelling.weebly.com/). I am using my dissertation work to detail the progression of making a model from the ground up. In my biweekly blog posts I hope to detail the methods and techniques that can be used as a starting point to create a model.
